Outfit of the Day: Crop Top and Shorts Two Piece Co-ords

Hey kittens, welcome to another Outfit of the Day post! I’ve put a little hold on Wednesday Wishlists for the past couple of weeks because I’ve simply had way too many cool clothes to share with y’all. Personally, I prefer putting out as many style posts as I can, so I hope you’ve been enjoying them too?

Anyway, today’s look is another super affordable bit of summer kit, predominately by one of my favourite affordable online stores, MissPap. I’m pretty much addicted to their site at the mo – they change stock so quickly that when I see something I like, I have to snap it up right away and I am SO pleased I did with this unusual two-piece set.

Co-ords have been everywhere this SS14 and so far I’ve tried out two piece trouser suits and blazers, top and skirt sets, but never a top and shorts set – and I’ve gotta say, I’m loving the way this looks. Although I’ve dressed this one up for a night out (keeping it simple with some classic black accessories as to not overdo the busy print), I’ve also already popped this in my suitcase ready for my summer holidays. I just know it’s going to look perfect with a pair of gladiator sandals, a wide brim hat with a beach bag slung over my shoulder. In fact, these wayfarer Sunglasses Junkie shades are already starting to set the vibe…

Before I carry on about this gorgeous set all day (I honestly really love this set, the print is just so unusual with the blue and white pattern and it feels SO much more expensive than it really is), I just want to say that – shock horror – the top half is a crop top. I know, I know. I never thought I’d be able to pull off a crop top. Heck, I’ve not got a flat stomach and I always felt that having a bum and boobs would mean I couldn’t wear the cropped trend that’s been huge over the past couple of summers. However, I do feel comfortable in this one; I suspect as the shorts are relatively high waisted and retain a bit of modesty. To be honest with you, I guess the jury is still out with me over the crop top trend. I’m not one to flash too much flesh so this look was a little risky for me, but I ended up loving it and I cannot wait to wear this set to the beach for a daytime chill look.
