Outfit of the Day – “Flower Headbands & Vintage Pearls”

Hey kittens!

This is my final outfit in my series of MissPap featured items. I love every single one of the items they’ve sent me and this shirt is no exception. I absolutely adore the embellished collar – totally on trend and I think its a fantastic way to upgrade an otherwise plain shirt. The peplum sillouhette is also something I have been adoring this autumn, as although I think it may go out of fashion in a year or so, its a very flattering shape. What girl doesn’t love flattering?

The peachy, pale pink shade of the shirt is also a colour I’ve embraced recently. In the past I made sure to only wear vibrant reds, avoid pinks and stay away at all costs from pastel peaches, due to the nature of my extraordinarily pale English rose complexion – which I love and embrace, yet have been forever cautious of looking washed out. There is a difference, after all, between pale and “ill” looking (which my grandmother often likes to remark on)! However, after being bought a skin coloured playsuit as a gift this spring and being pleasantly surprised at my love for it its underlying neutral shades, I have indeed delved into the depth of the flesh toned garments. Kitten tip: I’ve found that as long as the item picks up on the undertones of your skin colour (in my case, I have pink undertones and this shirt is on the peach colour scale, not the yellow colour scale) you can feel safe knowing you won’t go out looking too much like Casper The Friendly Ghost.

My shoes are from New Look and are moccasin style. Not only are they paler-than-baby-pink and so match extremely well with the MissPap shirt, the vintage boat shoe vibe helps to compliment the classic faux pearl necklace and rosebud headband that I’ve donned to complete the look. I like to think this look is a modern, flapper era-esque look with a hint of boho chic… Too many cliche’s at once?
