Outfit of the Day: Lace Insert Floral Dress

Hey kittens, it’s the last day of August. Tomorrow we enter September and Summer will officially be over. Boo! However, I’m making the most of these limited opportunities for getting my legs out with this gorgeous floral dress combo. Bright colours, hot whites and almost bare legs – what a fabulous way to conclude the summer!

Amazingly, it’s still really warm in Manchester – I know, the capital of rain is doing us proud this summer! Unbelievably, we’ve had the best summer in many years and despite starting off very wet, we’ve had weeks and weeks of humid sun with little rain. Floral dresses have been my saviour within this time of unknown weather and this lace insert dress by MissPap is one of my favourites. The layering on it gives a wonderfully luxurious effect and the shift shape is flattering on all body shapes. I love it.

For shoes, I chose these amazing court shoe heels from Deichmann. I don’t own many pointed shoes but after trying these I am a convert – the pointed toe really helps to elongate the leg and these gold capped versions are very similar to a lot of high end brands. I really feel these white and gold numbers will last me through Autumn and Winter as well, adding a pop of colour to my otherwise dark outfits to come.

Accessories-wise, I wanted to keep the rest of the look fairly simple to balance out the intricacy of the dress. As the dress throws out a lot of warm toned pinks and purples, my lilac Pint Sized satchel from Brit Stitch was the ideal choice. Forever a fan of Brit Stitch, this little number really does add an injection of “cute” to any look, even in this case where the over all image is quite formal. Plus, it goes extremely well with my purple orchid flower hair clip!

Finally, I popped on my nude sheer tights from Tights Please. I know a lot of bloggers are against nude colour tights but yep, I went there. For me, nude coloured tights are an essential part of being pale. While lovers of fake-tan are confident in their bare legs, most of the time I will reach for a pair of these stockings. Not because I don’t feel confident without them, but because we of fair complexion don’t have the tan barrier to hide the unsightly areas of our legs.
