Still trying to catch up with my Outfit of the Days – please keep with me!
This one was a bit of an experimental look for me as I’ve never really taken it upon myself to wear tropical print before. I’ve admired the bright colours and bold prints of the tropical trend since Spring 2012 and I thought it about time I tried it myself!
The shirt was a sale bargain from Select. I nearly bought it when it first came out in Spring, but due to my doubts over how tropical print would fit in with my style, I decided to think about it longer. Since then, I’ve thought about the shirt and whether I made the right decision for some time. Thus, it was almost a sign that when I by chance had a quick browse in the Select End of Summer sale that this little beauty would be shining out at me in a perfect size 10. At half price, I knew it had to be mine!
I must confess that I have only worn this item a couple of times and it is still not a favourite piece, but I am glad I have been able to partake in a new trend. My main concerns about the shirt are around its length – it is cropped at the front with a dip-hem at the back. Whilst asymetrical hemline is again bang on trend this year, I feel its durability will be tested next year. That and the fact that I am still not happy enough to get my tummy out in public!
