Review: Melt Candle

Hey kittens!

This post is a little different. Am I reviewing clothes? No. Jewellery? No. Make-up? No.

Nope, in fact I am reviewing a candle. Yes, a candle.

Whilst it does seem a little random – I thought that as it is officially February today, it would be a great opportunity to give y’all some little gift ideas ready for the month of love. And I have to say, Melt scented candles are perfect for Valentines day!

Now, it’s no secret that Yankee candles were one of the biggest crazes of 2012 in the blogosphere. It seemed almost everyone had one apart from me, well, now I’m starting my own craze – the Melt candle!

As well as this, I was really pleased with the packaging. It’s elegant and modern yet still classic in black matte. I love the way that the lid lifts off around the whole candle and you have to tip the candle out to get at it – I suppose you could even burn the candle whilst it’s in it’s box if you really wanted to (although, lets face it, an open frame burning in cardboard probably isn’t the best idea, kittens).

Like Yankees, the candle is contained in a glass jar which is really quite pretty. It has the Melt branding on one side and on the other a cute damask pattern – which incidently, and quite conviniently, goes quite well with the rest of my room! I think its a thoughtful feature, that you don’t have to have the brand side showing as personally I am not totally into brand names and name dropping.

Another bonus is that it says it has over 70 hours worth of burning time. To be honest, I am skeptical of this, but I’m not gonna sit there and time how long it burns for. However, I had it lit this weekend for two evenings in a row and its barely made an indent in the top, so perhaps it’s true!

Over all, I think it’s a lovely gift idea and one that would suit most!
