Having heard about Rianna’s collection on the social media grapevine for some time, I couldn’t wait to attend her press event at Manchester’s very own 2022NQ basement gallery – a favourite hotspot for up-and-coming brands as you may have noticed from the amount of events I’ve reported on there. As an industrial, urban setting it was perfectly suited to the collection’s shabbychic-come-futuristic designs. Hello, gemotric graphic prints!
As y’all know, I’m a keen supporter of local talent – check out my series on Manchester Talent – and so I was delighted to hear that Rianna had studied ‘Textile Design for Fashion’ at Manchester School of Art. Surprising, however, was hearing that Rianna’s biggest market for her designs is in Australia! As the accessories are hand made in Britain with the fabrics are printed locally, it seems like a barmby concept to ship the products so far across the pond, but one that obviously suits Rianna perfectly.
So kittens, what do you think of Rianna Phillips’ Autumn/Winter collection? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
