February equals two main events in my social calendar… Valentine’s Day is the obvious one but the other that I personally get more excited about is Fashion Week! To celebrate this season’s London Fashion Week AW17 and give us a slice of the backstage actions (whether we are on the catwalk or not!), lookfantastic are helping us to get fashion focused this month with their Runway Ready lookfantastic Beauty Box February 2017.
So, what’s inside? This month, like in the lookfantastic January 2017 Beauty Box, there’s an introduction to some new brands. A standout for me is the fullsized The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (worth £4.90). This is one of the hottest up-and-coming skincare brands out there right now and any beauty blogger who’s anyone is raving about The Ordinary. I’ve gotta admit, this is my first delve into them, but I guess that’s why the lookfantastic Beauty Box subscription service is so great; it’s an easy and affordable way to try out new products without having to think about it.
Another favourite in the box for me is the Model Co Eye Lites Metallic Shadow. I just love trying out new colour cosmetics and this stunning metallic shade is right up my street. It applies easily with it’s own applicator and this is the type of colour I love to use all over my lid, topped off with a few lashings of mascara, for an everyday work makeup look.
Okay okay, I know I’m not really allowed to have three favourites, but I also really love the inclusion of the This Works Stress Check Breathe In rollerball scent which is worth a whopping £16.00 for 8ml. This Works is one of my favourite skincare and lifestyle beauty brands and having been a convert to their Deep Sleep Pillow Spray I have been searching for an excuse to try more of their relaxing fragrances… And here is their famous anti-stress, pulse point product straight through my door for me to try.
Skincare wise, another brand new to me in the Runway Ready lookfantastic Beauty Box February 2017 is the Borghese Fango Mud Mask. This is a mini, one-off application version of the full size mask (£22.55 for 222ml) and it reminds me of the Origin’s Face Mask Pods which have taken the beauty world by storm. I love how cute and mini this is for taking away on holiday and I can definitely see this popping in my travel bag ready for applying on my next flight for some ‘me-time’ whilst in the air. Yes, I really do that!
All fashionistas need a little extra eye love every now and again and this February they need to look extra fluttery and flirty ready for Valentine’s Day! The Polaar Icy Magic Roll On is a cooling eye cream applied directly through a roller ball, so ideal for popping in your handbag for refreshing your eyes after a long day at Fashion Week (read: work). I tried the Polaar lip balm in the lookfantastic October 2016 Beauty Box and have been using it ever since, so I can’t wait to try this one.
My least favourite product in the Runway Ready lookfantastic Beauty Box February 2017 are the MyVitamins Catwalk Queen vitamin supplements. These usually cost £12.99 for 60 capsules and pride themselves on boosting your skin, nails and hair. Although I like that lookfantastic are trying something new with the inclusion of a more lifestyle based product, I personally prefer to try new cosmetics and skincare over supplements – but hey, that’s just down to personal taste!
Over all, the lookfantastic Beauty Box February 2017 is one of my favourites yet and their easy and affordable subscription service continues to fuel my lust for trying the newest and hottest beauty products on the block. At around £13 per box, it’s definitely worth a subscription service for me.
