Let’s be honest here – I love my interiors but DIY and renovations aren’t really my thing. Hey, I can’t lie, I don’t like to break my nails but I do like to switch up my homewear styling a little for each season. So, for me, soft furnishings are the way to go. Changing up accessories is a dead easy way to give your interiors a little refresh each season without redecorating the whole room, so here are the top 3 trendy summer soft furnishings you need for this season.
Cacti
In case you haven’t been in any shops this summer, plants have made a real comeback across homewear, fashion and pattern accessories. Palm prints are big on dresses (like my palm print dress here) but for the home, it’s cactus all the way. Last year shrubs and bamboo had their time, but right now it’s all about the cacti – which is pretty lucky considering that cacti are probably the cheapest of these! You can pick up a couple of plant pots and mini cacti from your local garden centre or homewear shop for a couple of quid each, which is a super cheap way of giving your home that summer refresh it needs.
White Faux Fur
Faux for is for life, not just for Winter, and right now white faux fur and faux sheepskin are really having their moment. With the surge of hard floors and Scandi style minimalism taking over homewear trends this year, you can inject a little bit of softness back into the room by switching up your textures. Although faux fur does have the tendency to look a little ‘Christmassy’, if you go for light colours such as white, blush pink or pale grey, you’re sure to be set for snuggling up this summer.
Boho Inspired Throws
As I mentioned in my Summer Homewear Trends post, boho tends to come around every summer – hey, who can resist a bold print for sunny days? – and in homewear it’s no exception. Brighten up your interiors easily way by picking up a Moroccan inspired throw, such as these Cox and Cox throws, and add to any room for a quick fix. Use them over your settees, as a table cloth or even a picnic blanket outside to add a little boho glamour to any room. Popping a few of these around your home will make sure your house has a subtle summer vibe without having to do any major redecoration; sounds good to me!
So, those are my Top 3 Homewear Accessories You Need For Summer, hopefully giving you a quick and easy way to add some summer vibes to your home without having to break a nail. Enjoy!
