Stripe Kimono Top and Flared Trousers

Most days I try and dress pretty smart – or smart-casual at least – but when I know I have a work meeting that day, I do try and look a little more ‘corporate’. In the Summer, this can be a little more difficult. Most times, I wear a dress, but for when that won’t quite cut it, I like to choose a smart pair of black trousers and a ‘proper’ workwear type of top. Today’s monochrome stripe kimono style top and flare trousers, paired with some smart black sandals, are exactly what I like to wear on those days.

There’s no escaping it – all black everything looks smart. It just does! And especially when it fits so well like these flared trousers and kimono fit, wrap top too. Of course, the white vertical stripes in the top also help. Not only is the old saying of downward stripes being flattering true, it also adds a little more interest to this outfit. You guys know I don’t do well if I don’t have patterns OR colours in an outfit, so this workwear top does help me to feel a little more like ‘myself’ whilst bossing it at work.
