TheBalm is one of the most talked about beauty brands this year; if you’re an avid Beauty Blog reader you will have probably heard a lot about their Mary Lou-miniser Highlight and their Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks. However today I’m going to share with you a hero product I got from HQHair – TheBalm Nude’tude Eyeshadow Palette.
This palette costs £29.50 and contains 12 highly pigmented and creamy shades. Above is a swatch of the bottom row including shades Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive, Silly and Sleek from left to right. My favourite of these shades is Standoffish, which on the skin shows up as a beautiful shimmery pale pink. Each of the colours are a highly wearable neutral shade, that can either be blended with the paler matte colours for a daytime look, or layered with the shimmery and darker colours for night time.
Above are swatched of the top row; Serious, Sexy, Sophisticated, Selfish, Stubborn and Sexy from left to right. Of these shades, Sexy (witwoo), is my favourite; it’s a deep red maroon shade, one that I would never usually pick, but that this palette makes lovely and wearable. As a side, I really love the packaging and names of each of these colours – it’s fun, retro and pinup inspired, and I love putting on a shade or two and saying ‘I’m feeling sexy and sleek today’.
For £29.50, this palette is a new must have and although it doesn’t replace my Holy Grail Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palettes, it is now the one I reach for more and more. The colours are beautiful and the packaging is light and easy to carry, making it perfect for nights out and work overnight stays.
