Welcome to day 2 of Lily Kitten x Tommy Hilfiger Takeover Week. Yesterday I shared my first Outfit of the Day, and a focus on the 30th Anniversary Tommy Hilfiger Knitwear collection, today, I’m drawing a longer list of my lust-haves by taking you through my top wish list items for Tommy Hilfiger Autumn Winter 2015.
After visiting my local Tommy Hilfiger at House of Fraser in Manchester (where you can get 15% off in store by mentioning Lily Kitten ’til 23rd November, by the way) it became clear that the brand groups their clothes in blocks of collections. For instance, they’ll use one display stand for items all from one colour grouping, which makes it dead easy to pick out a whole outfit without trying too hard. I found this really helpful – yeah, I like to get creative when I can, but if you’re choosing a statement piece then you want to be able to buy accessories that compliment it rather than override it.
To honour this, I’m going to be taking you through a couple of different wish lists, each from a different Fall Winter 2015 Tommy Hilfiger collection, to mimic the lovely shopping experience I had in House of Fraser Manchester.
Wishlist 1: Sports Luxe
As part of yesterday’s blog post about the 30th Anniversary knitwear covered, sports luxe is part of Tommy Hilfiger’s signature style. My first wish list picks out my favourite items inspired by the sports luxe trend from Tommy’s Autumn Winter 2015 collection.
A lot of these items look to old screen original luxury leisurewear for inspiration, which I can really see in the stripes and silk fabric. There’s also a nod to the 70’s (we all know this decade is HUGE right now) with the polo knecks, ribbed fabrics and colour blocking, as shown in this simple yet chic knitted jumper. I know I chatted about this a bit yesterday, but I am a huge fan of the deep colours featured – the reds, the blues and whites (like in this navy and white shift dress) are so iconic and bold primary colours such as this compliment any skin tone.
Wishlist 2: Winter Wear
You guys know I have an ever-growing coat collection, and my visit to Tommy Hilfiger at House of Fraser did no good for my shrinking wardrobe space! It wouldn’t be a Lily Kitten collection edit without me picking out my fav outerwear pieces – and trust me, there was a lot to choose from!
Tommy Hilfiger’s Autumn Winter 2015 coats and jackets take their inspiration from the ‘60s and ‘70s when menswear influences and androgynous styles reigned, now adding tailoring to suit a feminine figure. We’ve all gone crazy for a camel coat over the past two years, and so of course Tommy includes this classic camel coat as one of his must-have pieces for this year. My other favourite coats include this grey peacoat (I tried it on and am seriously so tempted!) and this classic trent coat, both of which I think are timeless and deffo investment pieces. If you’re wanting to splash the cash for a winter coat that lasts a little longer this year, pick one of those two, as you’ll be certainly getting your wear out of them.
Wishlist 3: Autumn Winter Lust Haves
My third and final wishlist from the Tommy Hilfiger Autumn Winter 2015 is a whole other side of the designer brand which I think sometimes goes overlooked – and full of lust haves which I must have! It’s pretty easy to associate Tommy Hilfiger with sports luxe and red white and blue, but when I visited House of Fraser to see the collection in person I was pleasantly surprised to see an edit of pastels, neutral colours and even a leather and sheepskin jacket.
My items in this wish list aim to show off a side of Tommy Hilfiger that you may not have seen much before – this collection mixes feminine pleats and frills with leather and harder materials to create my favourite Autumn Winter 2015 items from the collection. I mean, don’t you just adore this pussybow blouse – pair it with this season’s must have accessory (an oversized cape) to create the an on-trend outfit. Plus, don’t forget your Autumn Winter basics to take you through the season; a decent pair of skinny jeans will last you a good few winters.
So, which is your favourite collection edit out of my 3 Tommy Hilfiger wish lists? Please feel free to tweet me or leave me a comment down below to let me know – I would love to hear which style you guys are loving this season! Also, if any of these items take your fancy, feel free to pop into House of Fraser Manchester and get an exclusive 15% discount off Tommy Hilfiger in store just by saying you read my blog posts.
My Tommy Hilfiger posts take a break tomorrow and then continue on Thursday with a blog post I am SO excited to share with y’all – and it may just include an item or two from my wish lists…
