Okay so, this is the first blog competition I’m entering and it’s for one reason; the prize is a trip to see the Northern Lights. And the Northern Lights just so happen to be on my bucket list of places I want to travel to. Yep, really, not just for the competition or anything: real life travel goals. Anyway, I thought it would be a cool opportunity to talk a little more about travel wish list… So keep reading to find out where I can’t go without visiting before I pop my clogs.
1. India
It is a little known fact that my dad’s side of the family lived in India. My Grandad was born in India and lived there until he was an adult and moved to the UK. Yep so, there’s something you didn’t know!
I’ve grown up with stories about the country, feeling connected without ever being there, and after my parents, my uncle and my Grandma went on their own heritage journey across India before I was even a twinkle in their eyes, I’ve heard so many tales of what it’s like. I love to read about it, watch TV programs and films about it, and I want to go and experience it myself.
Top of my bucket list is seeing one of the 7 wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra; a symbol of romance and history. In fact, I kinda want to get married there – but there are two problems with this: 1. I’ve never been and don’t yet have the funds to do so. 2. I’m single. So, we’ll keep working on number 1 at least.
2. New York City
Okay so, NYC is pretty different to the first addition to my travel lust list, but I still want to visit just as much. Every person I know that has visited New York (and it seems like pretty much ever single person I know, period) has come back and told me how much I would love it. They just KNOW I would love it there. And they’re right, I would.
I would absolutely love to experience the hustle and bustle of a 24/7 city. Manchester is pretty great, and I love it here, but New York New York is just the extreme of extremes. Lights, camera, action all the time. Small indie bars, Times Square, pizzerias, museums and art gallerys, Central Park, Broadway, 42nd St, Statue of Liberty, the city skyline… Imagine the blog photos you could take there!
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, etc.
3. Arctic Circle

Transun – a snipper of their incredible prize)
Duh, I wasn’t lying when I said it was on my travel bucket list. It really is.
As a pale baby who doesn’t do well in the sun, I’ve always favoured colder climates. I’d much rather opt for a city break over a beach break, but over it all, I’d love to just BE in the snow. Proper Santa’s workshop stuff. And as an avid user of a star-naming app (yes, really, don’t judge) I would LOVE to see the Northern Lights for myself.
In a world full of technology, buttons, electricity and connectivity, just imagine how amazing it must be to see such a beautiful nature phenomena happen before your very eyes. Proper mother-nature stuff. And I would LOVE to take along my camera and blog and vlog it for all you guys to experience it with me as well, so we can all experience it together.
Transun are offering one blogger the chance to spend a couple of days in the Arctic Circle with a person of their choice
(enter here), and I would so love for it to be me so I can at least cross one of the above places off my travel lust list before I die. Fingers crossed.
