Every gal loves a spa day, right? I know I certainly do and after a busy ole’ time at work recently I took the chance to Unwind with Spa Seekers as they invited me to Mottram Hall – one of the most beautiful hotels in cheshire – to indulge in a day of learning and pampering.
Pulling up to Mottram Hall, I was absolutely blown away. Unfortunately that’s not my limo, no, but it perfectly suited the location and one would be forgiven for thinking a Queen would pull up to a hall like this. Alongside a select handful of other bloggers, Spa Seekers welcomed us to this beautiful venue – a gorgeous stately hall complete with hotel, spa, restaurant and golf course. Only the best for us, eh?
Once inside we were welcomed by the lovely Sammy from the Spa Seekers/Net Booster team and waited (chatted) for half an hour or so before entering a meeting room. There, we were given a workshop on choosing the right colours for your skin tone. I found this really interesting although thought it quite an unusual topic for fashion and beauty bloggers, most of whom are pretty decisive by nature in what they wear. The consensus was pretty much that each of us already knew which colours we rocked, and the rest were creative enough to make whatever colour they want work. Yaaas girls.
After an hour and a half or so, we had grumbly tummies and so were invited through to the Mottram Hall restaurant for afternoon tea. This was the highlight of my day! Cakes are the way to my heart and our lunch certainly did not disappoint. We each were invited to share a beautiful stack of classic afternoon tea, including finger sandwiches, sweet treats and of course, homemade scones. Yum!
As well as delicious food, I think this was probably my fav part of the day due to the chilled nature of it. We bloggers love a good natter and this environment was perfect for it. All the other girls were so lovely and enthusiastic as was the spa manager of Mottram Hall, who I look forward to hopefully seeing again in the spa!
After lunch we were led back to the meeting room to have another workshop, this time in makeup application. Now, because you guys know I work in the industry, I am so enthusiastic about beauty and love seeing and hearing new makeup techniques. In this case, the MUA was so highly talented as well, demonstrating a day-to-night look on our host Sammy (who looked beautiful with her full face of glam!). However next time it might be nice to see this replayed on a large screen, or for us to join in trying this on ourselves, as it was quite hard to see the makeup being applied in the setting of a meeting room.
After this workshop, we were invited to try out the spa at Mottram Hall but unfortunately due to timings I had to leave and miss out on the main event. Of course, this is totally not the fault of Spa Seekers although blogger events do usually last only a few hours and this one lasted from 10.30 – 3pm which unfortunately meant I couldn’t stay the whole time. However I am now 100% sold on Mottram Hall and am adamant I must pop back to try our their spa for myself!
