With Father’s Day just around the corner, coming up this Sunday 18th June, there’s still time to grab your Dad or Baby Daddy some last minute gifts! In need of a little inspiration for my own Dad, I headed along with my pug Sonny and Jonathan to the #wrapdifferent Father’s Day Event hosted by gifting specialists IWOOT and men’s grooming professionals Mankind in search of some tip top gifts ‘for him’.
Hosted at Twenty Twenty Two in the Northern Quarter, the ping pong capital of the North West no less, we were welcomed into a private event room filled to the brim with tables full of gift ideas. From Star Wars cookie jars to BBQs disguised as toolboxes, there were gifts that even the fussiest of Dads would be surprised with.
As well as tons of gifts to look at, there were super fun activities like ‘Product Pong’ hosted by Mankind. Yep, this was a clever take on beer pong with a prize in each cup, meaning that if you were lucky enough to get a hole in one, you would without a doubt be going home with a prize, big or small. I was super proud to be able to get a bouncing shot in and won some luxury Hawkins & Bimble moustache wax – heck, my tash is going to be on fleek!
IWOOT also put on some fun competitions in aid of the event, like a speed wrapping contest to find out who could rise to the channel and wrap odd shaped presents in the quickest time. Jonathan took his chance and wrapped a T-Rex dinosaur toy in around 20 seconds, which I was pretty impressed with – hey, it looked scruffy, but no different to how he usually wraps my presents!
In fact, the wrapping paper competition was symbolic of the #wrapdifferent event title. IWOOT’s own wrapping paper features briefs, socks, ties, beer bottles and hammers (all presents that your Dad is probably bored with getting on special occasions). Instead of getting him what he expects, grab your dad something totally different and new from IWOOT or Mankind this Father’s Day. In fact, they’ve created a handy Father’s Day gift guide full of unusual gifts and gadgets.
Thank you to Mankind and IWOOT for putting on a great event! As a lady blogger myself (could you tell?), my pug Sonny and I were made to feel so welcome in at a more male-specific blogger event. Jonathan, who is usually dragged along to fashion shows and makeovers, had a chance to see the more masculine side of blogging, and I just hope we get invited along next year too!
