Introducing: the £1.50 fragrance you need in your handbag. No, it’s not high end. No, it’s not a perfume And no, it doesn’t come in pretty dressing table packaging. But yes, it is super affordable and the perfect size for chucking in your bag for on the go! It’s the Yardly Lily of the Valley body spray.
Although when I first got this through to try in the post I wasn’t super excited about it, I’m now a total convert. Let’s face it, it’s 2017 and initially I was confused that body sprays were still around – they remind me of high school changing rooms and slathering on sprays before a night out – but now I can see they still have a place in my life. For a quick freshen up halfway through the day at work, spraying in the office to get the musty smells of lunch away and spritzing on to take me from desk to night, this handy travel sized bottle has truly proven it’s worth.
The scent itself is typical of Yardley London, a quintessential English brand, which has been capturing the delicate fragrance of flowers since 1770. It is a light, feminine white floral with fruit pear accords in the top note and a beautiful floral bouquet heart of lily accord. At £1.50, it’s not going to set your world on fire but at 75ml it’s the perfect size for keeping on your desk or throwing in your handbag to take you from day to night in a simply spray. If you’re on a budget and looking for a change of fragrance, give this one a go.
